Astronomía y Agua Corriente
I learned that researchers are still debating what these objects were used for at Machu Picchu. They look like dishes filled with a few inches of water. Some believe they were used by astronomers and priests to study the sun or stars. They could see the reflections of the sky in the pools of water, so they wouldn't hurt their eyes by looking directly at the sun. By the way, it poured down rain for almost two hours when I first got to Machu Picchu and I also got to see how the city's drainage system still worked. I learned the Inkas built a waster system to filter fresh spring water into the city, so they had running water all the time.
